Gnagy, known to millions as America's first television art teacher,
began drawing and painting at age eleven and winning prizes at the
Kansas State Fair. At just the age of seventeen he became the art
director with a public relations firm. At the age of 24 he moved
to New York and his second day there he landed a finished art contract
for full page ads to run in the Saturday Evening Post and Fortune
Magazines.
Jon was the first Artist to appear on TV and his shows were eventually
seen by millions of people. He assured folks that anyone could draw.
