Unedited Customer Comment on this DVD
I found this Susan Scheewe DVD to be outstanding. From raspberries to a tropical sunset, she makes painting fun and informative for people of every talent level.
An unspoken theme runs through all of her paintings, and that is that "Less is More!". Unpainted spaces add interest to paintings and even when paint is applied...not every inch of paper needs to have "something" painted on it.....a simple wash of colors is more than often enough.
One of the things about this DVD that I found especially helpful was that she not only painted her pictures in the right way, but she also painted many wrong examples to show you the difference! She pointed out small things that most beginners do, such as painting trees with straight trunks, (something, I've done often enough!) when in nature, trees almost never grow straight.
Another thing that I like about the video is Scheewe's use of colors. She uses colors that when I first saw them, I thought, "yuck, I have never seen a sky or tree, or flowers, etc. that looked like that"....but then she combined the colors and I realized that I've seen them a million times in nature but never would have thought to paint with them!
Susan Scheewe is easy to watch and explains things clearly in ways easy to understand. The three hours spent watching this video are very worthwhile and will leave you raring to put paint to paper!" S.C. from North Carolina
